Newburgh, New York

In Newburgh, New York, a community in the Hudson Valley, GCI has partnered with the city on a Sustainable Master Planning process that will empower local citizens, NGOs, youth groups, and others in envisioning and building a sustainable future. We have trained over 200 stakeholders who have contributed to the process, and have hired several local coordinators to help the city do the public outreach and research that is required. This Master Planning initiative ties in with other planning efforts by the city to shape development on the waterfront, to upgrade the Broadway corridor, a main route through town, and to pull a plan together for the brownfields sites in the community.
