Andriy O. Demydenko Ph. D. Environmental Policy & Management
Dr. Demydenko originally trained as a nuclear physicist in Ukraine, a career that changed direction dramatically when the Chernobyl accident occurred. Since that time, Andriy has devoted himself to environmental protection and sustainable development, working in Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Russian Federation, U.S.A., The Netherlands, France, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan on a variety of environmental management projects. These projects have included international coordination of the Aral Sea project, as well as local government work on Local Agenda 21 in Kazakhstan, both with the United Nations Development Programme. He has also served in governmental posts, including a term as the Director of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Environment in Ukraine.
